google mail cleanup old / unwanted stuff

• create a label for all "unwanted" stuff: 31_days
• create a filter for unwanted keywords or senders and mark it with the label "31_days"
• do a search for the "old stuff" with:
  before:2012/1/1 label:31_days label:inbox
• select "select all konversation"
• move to trash
